Returns Policy for Bookstores, Resellers and Institutional Customers

GENERAL TERMS: We will issue credit for all pre-authorized and qualifying returned products that were purchased directly from Charles Press Publishers, and that are received by us in new, resalable condition. We do not issue cash refunds; credits may be applied to future purchases for a period of two (2) years from issue date of the credit. Returns will only be credited if they conform to the requirements listed below. Books must be paid for before they are returned and you may not delay or withhold payment of invoices because of possible future returns.
REQUEST PERMISSION FIRST: Please submit a written request that includes the original Charles Press invoice number, the title and quantity of books you would like to return, and your reason for returning.
TIME PERIOD: All products must be returned within one (1) year from the date of the original.
CONDITION OF RETURNS: Returns will only be accepted and credited if they are delivered undamaged, in new, and resalable condition. Books damaged by the vendor, or those that incur damage in transit because of poor or insufficient packaging/packing, will be returned to sender without notice, at the sender’s expense. If your returns have any of the following, they will not qualify for credit:
Scuffed or shelf-worn covers
Folded or soiled pages (dirt, fingerprints, stains, bookseller stamps, stickers, writing or markings of any kind)
Torn, bent, crimped covers
Broken, bent, bumped spines
PACKING RETURNS: Returns must be accompanied by a copy of the permission to return or a packing slip. Please make sure to use a sturdy box that is appropriately sized for the number of books included and includes enough packing material to prevent movement of the books. Shipping books in bubble envelopes is highly discouraged.
MIS-SHIPMENTS: Please notify us immediately if we shipped you the wrong title or quantity. We will arrange for you to return wrong titles and over-shipments at our expense and the appropriate replacement book will be shipped to you immediately.
YOU RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT: You must notify us in writing within thirty (30) days of receipt if the books you receive have a printer defect. We will promptly replace any defective products purchased directly from The Charles Press that are, aside from the noted defect, in resalable condition.
YOUR ORDER WAS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT: If you receive books that appear to have been damaged in transit, we ask that you do one of the following:
1. Refuse acceptance of delivery and notify us immediately by phone.
2. Accept the shipment, save the damaged box, photograph is, and tell your UPS or FedEx representative immediately who will file a damage/inspection report and return the products to Charles Press. We will replace the damaged shipment immediately.
RECALLED/SUPERSEDED EDITIONS: We will issue credit for superseded editions of books if they are returned within sixty (60) days of the publication date of the new edition, are in resalable condition and have been purchased directly from The Charles Press. Any products not meeting these criteria will not receive credit. A Recall Notice will be sent to all distributors at least 60 days prior to the release of a new edition. Request to return current stock of the previous edition must be received within 30 days.
